The men of Torpoint Bowling Club took on the division one champions Liskeard in the divisional final of the Top Team competition hosted at Saltash Bowling Club.

The team of 11, led by club captain Peter Rodwell, were N. Symons, A. Bestwich, B. Hoskin, M. Atkins, B. Stephens, D. Lawrence, T. Wilcocks, G. Rice, D. Masefield and M.Daniel.

Two wood –Liskeard won; the four wood – Torpoint won; the triples – Torpoint won; the pairs Torpoint won. A draw in the rink game gave Torpoint the win 3.5 to 1.5 over Liskeard and they now look forward to playing in the county finals in September against the group four winners.

This result rounded up the Torpoint club’s evening league programme giving them a very satisfying end to their campaign having also finished runners-up in both divisions one and two of the east section of group two.
