WITH rain forecast for later on Bank Holiday Monday, it was no surprise when Grampound Road won the toss and invited Callington to bat first. Adrian Robins was the first of Chris Roberts' four victims, given leg before in the third over, and his brother Matt had scored 19 when he was superbly caught at slip by Christian Purchase, again off Roberts. After that it was a sorry tale of woe, with only Aidan Libby making a double-figure contribution. Alex Robinson hung around for 54 balls for his seven runs, before falling leg before to Alex Ridd, an all-rounder who has just joined the Road from Ladock after achieving great success in the lower leagues.
