LISKEARD Tigers made a winning start to the new season, claiming this narrow victory over Curtis Marine, of Puffins Netball Club, at the Plymouth Life Centre.

Said Liskeard captain Holly Lemon: 'It was great to kick off the new season with a win. There are definitely things we need to work on, but we're on the right track and there were some really good periods of play.'

The team made the decision to leave Cornwall and join the Plymouth and District League for the 2013-14 campaign.

Having amalgamated last term's three teams into two squads – the Tigers and Cougars – there were some new faces present in the Tigers' line-up.
