The annual Sponsored Swimathon organised by the Liskeard branch of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) is due to take place at Lux Park Leisure Centre on Saturday, November 12, and is now taking team or individual registrations for the event.

The swimathon is open to all ages and the participants should be able to swim a length of the pool, which measures 25m.

Each team or individual will be allocated a 30-minute swimming slot with teams swimming in a relay manner at 4.05pm, 4.40pm, 5.15pm, 5.50pm or 6.25pm.

Time slots are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Entry is free of charge but the BHF organisers ask that swimmers raise as much as they can in sponsorship, which can be solely for the charity or up to 40 per cent of the total raised with another charity of choice also benefiting.

All participants will receive a certificate and there are trophies for special performances.
