TORPOINT Athletic reached the Rowett Insurance League Cup final for the second time in three years with a two-legged victory over Bude Town.

The Tamarsiders will face either Sticker or Plymouth Parkway in the showdown, thanks to a Rory Simmons strike at The Mill.

Leading 1-0 from the first leg – courtesy of a goal from Ross Avery – Torpoint were stunned when Bude took the lead through a Tom Statton free-kick.

The hosts struck back, Simmons grabbing the equaliser after being put through by Lewis Kershaw.

Torpoint were unfortunate not to take the lead when Avery had a header cleared off the line.

The second period was a tense affair with neither side able to create a clear cut chance, which left Torpoint edging through to the final 2-1 on aggregate.
