Looe Sailing Club
The penultimate race of the season got under way in Looe Bay last Saturday on a blustery afternoon which suited the heavier crews.
The stronger gusts caught out several with capsizing a regular occurrence, partially among the Laser fleet with new candidates coming forward for the annually-awarded Capsize Trophy.
The Enterprise race produced a new winner in Tom Shaw who led from the start in conditions he enjoyed to take his first top spot of the season and his crew Mark Rowe a first-ever win.
In second place was Steve Sargent who demoted Matt Jaycock to third place after the two had been racing neck-and-neck with nothing to choose between them for all four rounds.
This week sees the final races with the London Cup for the Mirror fleet with trophies to be awarded for the first three boats, along with all the monthly cups to be presented in the clubhouse prior to the Last Race Supper.
