Exeter Saracens 12

The home side gave a bumper Christmas crowd an early Christmas present as they overwhelmed Exeter Saracens with 21 tries in what is believed to be a club record for a league game at the East Cornwall Club.

From as early as the fourth minute, Saltash were in front, and the bonus point was sealed in the 13th minute.

For Saltash, right wing Will Morton scored a hat-trick in nine minutes on his way to five tries in the match. The visitors kept playing with what little possession they had.

Saltash legend, Peter Congo, playing at lock also got on the scoresheet at the age of 42, after finishing a fine move when flanker Lewys off-loaded from a few yards out to dive over.

With the half time score at 57-12, Saltash's other try scorers were left wing Ryan Cruikshanks (4 tries), Flanker Lewis Wells (3), scrum half Ollie Mulberry (2), replacement centre Jason Carroll (2), centres Shaun Crawford and Kieran Down each crossed, with Down kicking three second half conversions. Number 8 Steve Hillman and fly half Todd Croft also went over. Skipper and full back Max Venables kicked six first half conversions, with Croft adding two conversions late on.
