FRESH from beating the world's elite during London 2012, Team GB's Olympic rowers are revving up for yet another epic challenge.

Britain's full-time, professional Olympic rowers are set to compete against the South West's renowned tough army of gig rowers.

The rowing community divides into the precision masters of technique of the sliding seat world – which is what Team GB rowers use – and the brute strength and endurance of the fixed seat crews, which is what the traditional Cornish gig rowers compete in.
