Liskeard Athletic have decided to appoint a new management team from within the club.

Martin McHugh and Richard Woods – who have been in temporary charge since the departure of Paul Blatchford, to Tavistock – have been officially appointed on

a full-time basis.

McHugh explained: 'Following a meeting on Saturday with the chairman, I have decided to take on the first-team manager's job, with Richard Woods as my assistant.

'We held a players' meeting on Tuesday night after training to run through a few changes that will be made, but our philosophy will be the same as the

second team in that we will expect players to sign for the first and second team.

'We will be looking to promote as many young players through the ranks as pos-sible and to get players fit and playing better football through regular training.
