THE Cornish Pilot Gig season was off to a flyer on Sunday with the Three Rivers race at Saltash which, as tradition dictates, took in the Tam-ar, Lynher and Tavy.
The event, again superbly organised by the Saltash-based Caradon club, attrac-ted a ceiling entry of just over 50.
Calmer conditions than at last year's wind and wave mara-thon were much appreciated by the crews who came from as far afield as West Cornwall and Bristol.
