Cornwall Senior Cup 2nd Round

Perranporth 2

Liskeard Ath 4

The Blues came out of the blocks strongly and had the home side reeling after scoring twice in the opening seven minutes as they played their way in to the third round of the Senior Cup.

Nick Aplin's right foot drive flew into the net from 15 yards on three minutes with Tom Cleveland converting Sam Gilbert's precise cross with a close range header, four minutes later.

Perranporth gradually got themselves back into the game, pulling a goal back on 39 minutes, which gave them the impetus for the second half.

The home side came out fired up and were level after three minutes when Aaron Sanders took a through ball to fire home but the Blues got themselves together to restore their lead on 51 minutes when Ben Collins headed home at the far post.

Liskeard's task was not made any easier when Matt Lindsey received his second yellow, and an early shower, 10 minutes from time. But the Blues made light of being a man short with Tom Cleveland fouled in the area for Macauley Thorp to complete the scoring from the penalty spot.
