Liskeard Cougars 22

Tamarside Rebels 15

As Liskeard were about to take to the court, two of the players were deemed unsafe to play due to the length of their nails.

This resulted in some spontaneous team changes: Sanford stepping into WA and Julian in at WD.

Unsurprisingly, Liskeard started the game very unsettled with end to end play from both teams.

It was Moloney, however, who scored the first goal of the game, as Liskeard began their battle against top of the League rivals Tamarside Rebels. Cougars were soon three goals up thanks to great feeds into the shooters by new partnership Brewer and Sanford. The quarter ended 7-5 to Liskeard.

In the second quarter, Tamarside exhibited great play in the shooting circle with their fantastic shots from range.

However, Jeffery and Webb battled to ensure all rebounds were theirs. Brewer continued to battle in the midcourt, along with Harwood, to make some great interceptions and move the ball well. Cougars lead was extended and the second quarter ended 14-10.

The third quarter is typically Cougars' worst period of play but some more fantastic defending from Julian, Jeffery and Webb ensured Rebels didn't score a single goal. The quarter ended 17-10.

In the final quarter, Harwood returned to WA, Brewer remained C with Julian at WD.

Andrew and Moloney moved well in the circle allowing Harwood and Brewer to feed strong balls in for them to shoot. Some great shooting from the duo secured another five goals for Liskeard.

Cougars were extremely pleased with the result, beating top of the league 22-15 with only one loss recorded so far for this season.

They next face Cyan Tigers on November 18 where they will be hoping for another win.
