NOT wanting to disappoint the large fleet already milling around the start-line, the Looe race team postponed the start last Saturday to see if the breeze would to pick up.

That decision proved correct as, when battle finally commenced, the crews all enjoyed a reasonable sail, despite being a bit slow at times. Six Redwings made the start; Arthur Kinver got away first, closely followed by cousin, Peter Kinver, with Joe Palfrey.

The latter managed to find a way past his relative on the second round and hold the advantage until the finishing line.
