AN eight-year-old from South East Cornwall is celebrating after putting in a superb performance on one of the world's leading golf courses.
Harry Western, a member of the Academy set-up at St Mellion International Resort, was crowned South West champion after winning his age group in the Wee Wonders Championships at Farrington in Bristol.
Playing off a handicap of 31, his success saw him earn a place in the British finals at St Andrews – the venue for next year's Open Championship – with the finals consisting of two rounds of nine holes on the Saturday and a final nine holes on the Sunday over the Balgove course.
