Caradon Ladies 2nd 4
Caradon Ladies 2nd team kick-started their season with a convincing 4-0 win at home against newly-formed Okehampton.
Caradon started well from the first whistle, immediately passing the ball about confidently. A long pass from midfield saw captain Sarah Strevens drive to almost the baseline before squeezing it in the goal off the keeper.
Caradon maintained their early pressure and with player-of-the-match Helen Manley making driving runs through the middle it was only a matter of time before one of her crosses was met at the far post by Pippa Hedley, who slotted home to make it 2-0.
The third goal came just before half-time, when a superb solo run from Manley saw her shimmy past three defenders before expertly crossing into the D, where Delia Woodman confidently struck the ball into the back of the net.
The second half saw Caradon continue to dominate the game, with several attempts from Strevens, Abi Larigo and Georgia Davies only just missing the target. The scoring was completed by another great finish from Hedley, making it 4-0.
