Tie of the day in golfing terms on Sunday saw Looe defeat St Mellion Cornwall President’s Trophy after the match was tied at 4.5 points each. In the sudden death play-off Cornwall Seniors Andy Rowe won over Mark Cottingham at the first extra hole to see his team through to the semi final.

The other three matches saw comfortable wins for China Fleet (7 – 2 over Porthpean), Merlin (6.5 – 2.5 over Trethorne) and Carlyon Bay (6.5 – 2.5 over Mullion)

The semi finals will see Looe take on Carlyon Bay and China Fleet face Merlin on Sunday, February 14, 2016.
