RUNNERS forming a 20-strong team from East Cornwall Harriers gained high placings and personal best times in tackling the popular 'Mag 7' race.

The event is one of the most difficult on the Grand Prix circuit with seven miles of sharp-steep hills, cloying humidity, a lack of flat surface, and July sunshine making it difficult.

Despite this, it is a big favourite with the Harriers, who this year managed to put out 20 competitors in the 384-strong field.

First home for the Harriers was Liam Gallantry, who having been beaten on the last couple of outings by Jordan May, responded with a new personal best time of 45.29 to earn 26th place.
