Plymouth Argyle’s first game of the New Year is away to Carlisle United tomorrow (Saturday, January 2). This is usually the longest trip in the football league, but the match is instead being played at Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park because Carlisle’s ground has been badly hit by floods.

The Pilgrims head into the New Year three points clear at the top of League Two having emerged from a busy Christmas period relatively unscathed.
