Neil Warnock is bringing his Premier League Cardiff City squad to Cornwall for pre-season – and the Bluebirds will use Liskeard Athletic’s Lux Park as their training base, writes Kevin Marriott.

Cardiff, promoted to English football’s top league earlier this month, have pencilled in five pre-season friendlies in Cornwall during their week-long stay, as well as games against Devon clubs Tavistock and Torquay.

And one of the friendlies will be against South West Peninsula League division one west side Liskeard on Saturday, July 21, with a 2pm kick-off.

Warnock told the Cornish Times that Cardiff’s first team will be staying at St Mellion from July 15 to 21 and travelling across to Liskeard each day.

Cardiff’s first team have friendlies against Tavistock on Monday, July 16, Bodmin Town on Wednesday, July 18, and Torquay United on Friday, July 20. All have 7pm kick-offs.

Warnock will send teams mixed with Under 23 players and first teamers to Truro City (Sunday, July 15, at 2pm), St Austell (Tuesday, July 17, 7pm), Porthleven (Thursday, July 19 at 7pm) and Liskeard (Saturday, July 21, at 2pm).
