The recent inclement weather which culminated in last week’s complete washout has meant that the East Cornwall Premier League season could be extended until May 31.
League fixtures secretary Mike Murray has already extended the fixtures for the Premier Division to May 14 and Division One to May 21.
Since December 12 just 16 Premier Division matches have been played along with 12 Division One matches.
There is also the problem of the league cup and both the divisional cups having to be played before the finals take place at Easter which is early this year at the end of March.
Meanwhile, in the South West Peninsula League clubs will be hoping that the weather has relented for tomorrow’s league fixtures as time is fast running out in re-arranging fixtures.
The league has already extended to May 7, which is the latest allowed unless SWPL secretary Phil Hiscox seeks permission from the FA – something which they are not keen to sanction.
Two years ago the league season was 58 games behind schedule but this season it has almost doubled to 113 games falling behind schedule.
