Plymouth Argyle Ladies haven’t quite given up hope of winning the Premier League South West Division One after picking up all six points in Sunday’s double header against Southampton Saints, writes Dave Potham.

?In the first game Southampton started the better but the only goal came in the 18th minute when Cornish striker Tori Marks ran on to a great through ball to lob it over the advancing goalkeeper.

Argyle won the second game 3-0 with goals from Dandridge and Knapman (2).

Argyle are in action on Sunday with a visit to Brislington while their second team visit Buckland Athletic Reserves for their final Devon League match of the season.

Argyle’s second team could be playing Callington Town next season in the South West League Western Division as they have applied for promotion.

Callington Town will be bitterly disappointed at finding out that Alphington were awarded the match against Newquay Celtic.

Callington are due to play at Newquay on Sunday and then at Activate (Plymouth) to end the season the following week. In the meantime Callington are due to play Newquay Celtic in the Cornwall Cup Final next Friday at Camelford.

Two victories means that the pressure is on second-placed Alphington, who must win at Activate on Sunday to clinch second place.
