First Round

The Cornwall Senior Cup First Round draw has produced some intriguing ties to take place on Saturday, October 10.

The most intriguing sees ECPL leaders Edgcumbe taking on SWPL’s Saltash United.

The Ashes went out in extra time in the third round at Launceston last season while Edgcumbe went down 2-1 at home to a first round defeat by St Agnes.

Another exciting tie sees Torpoint Athletic up against local rivals Callington Town.

Torpoint were dumped out of the cup 2-1 at home by Hayle in the second round last season while Callington rode their luck until reaching the semi-final stage before losing to Godolphin Atlantic on penalty kicks.

The most difficult task falls to Dobwalls who will entertain St Austell who have won the cup in the last two seasons.

There is also an interesting match-up between ECPL teams Pensilva and Polperro.

St Dominick face a tough challenge at home to SWPL outfit Porthleven while Liskeard Athletic will fancy their chances against JCCL team Ludgvan.

Lanreath face a tricky home tie against SWPL team Illogan RBL, St Stephens Borough are up against SWPL high-flyers Helston Athletic and Millbrook are one of 12 teams to receive a bye.
