Callington Town women’s football team today (Sunday) renew their challenge for the South West League Western Division title when they receive AFC Plympton who they beat in Plymouth 3-0 a few weeks ago.
Callington are through to the semi-finals of the Cornwall Cup after RNAS Culdrose withdrew from the competition and they join holders Newquay Celtic, Charlestown and Mabe in the draw.
Meanwhile Plymouth Argyle women are now nine points from safety after being beaten 6-0 at Portsmouth last weekend and Queens Park Rangers’ surprise 2-1 win at Lewes. And it is Lewes who Argyle meet on Sunday in a game which has been switched to UCP Marjons 3G pitch with a 1pm kick-off as Elburton Vill’s Haye Road pitch continues to suffer from the bad weather.
