Callington Town have named former player Adam Chidzoy as their new first team manager following the sacking of Kev Pethick on Thursday night.

The club gave no further details about their appointment, although chairman Paul Fletcher has made some comments about outgoing boss Pethick.

Fletcher said: ’It was an incredibly difficult thing to do to release Kevin Pethick as manager.

’Kevin has been a player and manager for several years with our thirds, seconds and latterly the first team and we would like to thank him for his efforts both on and off the field.

’We really do wish the very best in whatever footballing ventures he takes in the future and are very grateful for all his hard work.’
