There are some excellent SWPL games to whet the appetite on Boxing Day – but supporters will have to get up early to watch as all the region’s teams are involved in 11am kick-offs.

Match of the day is at The Mill where Torpoint Athletic take on premier division leaders Saltash United.

Having lost their opening three home games, The Mill has become a bit of a fortress with Torpoint winning three and drawing four of the next seven matches.

But Saltash have an impressive away record, losing just once at Plymouth Argyle, drawing 2-2 at Exmouth Town, and winning the other 10.

Callington Town are looking to get back to winning ways when they travel to Launceston for their first meeting this season.

After a reasonable start to the season the Callies have lost six of their last seven matches as well as only picking up only two wins and 10 defeats on their travels.

Launceston have also been off the boil of late, having lost four of their last five matches as well as only winning twice at home.

In Division One West, match of the day is at Lux Park where Liskeard Athletic face their close rivals Dobwalls.

This will be the first time the teams meet this season; for the Blues it will be their first league match this month and they have lost their last three home games.

Dobwalls have already beaten last season’s final points total and have won three of their last four games.

There promises to be plenty of goals; between these two teams, matches they have been involved in have averaged more than five goals.

Millbrook, who have lost their last three games, will be looking for some Christmas cheer when they face Vospers Oak Villa at Weston Mill in Plymouth.

Villa have shown some decent form of late with a win and a draw from their last two games.

Results will be on the Cornish Times website on Boxing Day afternoon.
