Saturday's attraction was the staging of the monthly cup races for each fleet.
The Mirror fleet was once again the largest fleet on the water which is a tribute to the volunteers who are giving so much time to the youngsters in the weekly sail training sessions. Improvements in technique can be seen each week, particularly in the starting area.
Once again Ollie and Archie Hawkins showed their prowess leading from the front to record another victory. Joe Jackman and Jack Sargent had to fight back from third spot on the first round to get into runner-up position.
The Enterprise race saw another brother combination of Matt and Ivan Jaycock take their first piece of silverware since joining up as a team this season, finishing ahead of the class leaders Rob Libby and Brian Bowdler.
Conditions being all right tomorrow (Saturday) should see the annual Round The Island Race. The trophy goes to the fastest boat on handicap.
