LISKEARD Tigers got the better of Truro-based Saints' fourth team at Lux Park to continue their Cornwall Netball League Division Two winning streak.

Despite Saints opening the scoring, the hosts finished the quarter 11-7 in front thanks to good circle play from Amie Hoskin and Sophie Hocking.

They extended that advantage to ten points before half-time, though an injury to Emma Dalton saw her make way for Julia Eldridge.

The visitors enjoyed a much better third quarter and kept the deficit to ten going into the final stanza.

Lauren Finch replaced Holly Lemon for the final period and, with Vicki Hastings and Lucy Smale working hard, the forwards were able to boost their cushion to 20 goals by the final whistle.

Said captain Lemon: 'It was a much tougher match than we expected, and all credit to Saints for putting us under pressure.

'However, we stuck to our plan and, with some fantastic defending by Vicki, I was pleased we managed to get the win.'
