DOBWALLS Community Primary School's hockey team were crowned county champions at the Cornwall Youth Games in Newquay.

The Dobwalls pupils, representing Caradon, were among 3,500 competitors taking part in the Games.

Said PE co-ordinator Abbie Dennison: 'The Dobwalls children played superbly from the word go.

'They worked as a team, defending the goal and attacking to score goals, while protecting the midfield.

'The team were presented with a beautiful glass trophy, as well as individual medals.

'I couldn't have been more proud of our children. Their skill, determination and sportsmanship was excellent.'
