South East Cornwall based company Bond Timber has been announced as the new sponsor of the Cornwall Cricket League.

With immediate effect, the league will be known as the Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League.

The company, based at Trerulefoot, has had many associations with local sport over the years.

A spokesman for Bond Timber told the Cornish Times: ’We are delighted to be involved with the Cornwall Cricket League and to expand our involvement in local sport.

’We are particularly pleased to put our name to a countywide organisation.’

League chairman Andrew Kent said: ‘As a league, we are delighted to be able to give Bond Timber naming rights to the Cornwall Cricket League.

‘They are a long established local company with connections in local cricket already and we very much look forward to our partnership.’

Bond Timber is a division of W H Bond & Sons.

It is one of the largest timber merchants in the South West, providing trade and retail customers with a wide range of timber for home, garden and commercial projects.

Specialists in timber preservative treatment, Bond Timber has won many awards in recent years, particularly for the 30-year service life fencing treatment it offers.

Bond Timber replaces LWC Drinks as the league sponsor.
