LISKEARD Cricket Club have pulled out of the Cornwall Cricket League after failing to attract enough players to carry on.
The club, who play in division three east, informed the league on Wednesday.
Their results and points for the 2018 season have been expunged from the official Cornwall Cricket website table and also play-cricket fixtures and results.
One of the long-serving players, James Maunder, told the Cornish Times: ‘It’s so sad that a town as large as Liskeard will no longer have league cricket.’
A statement from Liskeard CC said: ‘The club will focus on rebuilding to ensure that Liskeard has a Cricket Team and to use the various initiatives to attract new interest, and younger players.
Liskeard Cricket Club was founded in the late 1880s.
