Liskeard Cricket Club’s annual meeting was the most vibrant one for years with current and former players forming a new committee and making plans for their first season back in the Cornwall Cricket League.

Martin Mote was voted in as captain and announced several new signings to add to the anticipated transfers of players from Pencarrow and Menheniot-Looe respectively.

Chairman Tim Hyslop and treasurer Robin Cowling are both former first team captains but other new players also attended including Andy Harwood, David Ambler and Jason Higgs.

Liskeard’s new ball attack is likely to be spearheaded by the Cobb brothers, Andy and James who have both been successful at higher levels of the game. A new signing, though, is the former Pencarrow opening batsman, Matthew Sutton.

Nets will be held at Lux Park Leisure Centre, Liskeard on Sunday, February 24, and a family fun day at Lux Park scheduled for Sunday, April 7.
