CORNWALL's under-13 girls cricket team have been crowned Group Three champions of the ECB Women's Under-13 County Development League.

Coached by Matt Rowe and David Roberts, current and former Cornwall Minor Counties opening batsmen respectively, the girls have won all seven of their fixtures this season, scoring more than 1,000 runs along the way.

Their success has a lot to do with the commitment and passion shown during the summer and winter months. The squad trained fortnightly at the Cornwall Cricket Centre for 12 sessions during the winter, and continued to put in extra hours of training in between fixtures in the summer.
