A SKITTLES team from Cornwall has written its name into the record books at the Blackthorn British Championships.

The Everhopefulls, from Pensilva, became the first side in the competition's history to win a hat-trick of National titles after claiming victory in the grand finals at Torquay last weekend.

They were the only team from the Duchy to reach the finals and took the women's crown for a third time by beating Totnes-based Dolly Mixers, 344-327, at the Riviera International Conference Centre – a result which also secured them a winners' cheque for £1,200.
