LOOE Sailing Club members past and present joined together to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the club which was founded by a small group of sailing enthusiasts back in 1934.
Many a tale of former exploits were relived over a pint during the evening while looking at the display of memorabilia laid out in the lounge.
Presentations of souvenir mugs were made by Commodore John Crabb to the winners and, in the case of the Mirror fleet, second of the afternoon race.
A buffet laid out in the training room was enjoyed by all, grateful thanks go to Carol Kinver for all her work.
This was followed by the cutting of the birthday cake made by Mattie Bray, by the clubs senior member Clifford Adams who celebrated his 90th birthday last week. He spoke of his early days in the club and was also presented with a mug as a souvenir of the occasion.
