Clive Roseveare Hawkey Cup

Quarter-Final

Callington v. Wadebridge

CALLINGTON booked their place in the semi-finals of the competition thanks to this nine-wicket home victory.

Wadebridge batted first and got off to a flyer, taking 31 runs from the first three overs, with the usually economic Aidan Libby having radar problems.

Dan Callinan struck first by tempting Roderick to snick a catch to keeper Joe White after he had scored 17.

His fellow opener, Will Cooke was the next to fall, this time to a White stumping off Matt Robins, and Andrew Libby bowled Tim Marlin for 15.

John Maycock pulled two sixes in consecutive balls from Robins, before being bowled by the returning Jim Shorten for 23.

After that, wickets continued to fall and, after their 20 overs, Wadebridge were on 111 for eight.
