TWO goals in the final half-hour saw Liskeard Athletic come from behind to record a good victory against Division One West hosts Penryn Athletic, who are expected to challenge for honours this season.

The Blues found themselves a goal behind after only three minutes when a mix-up between goalkeeper Chris Wearing and defender Alex Ridge allowed Matt Roberts to fire home from close range.

'We were sluggish in the first half against a well-organised team who had already played several friendlies while this was our first big test,' admitted assistant manager Kevin Harley.

'Penryn knocked the ball around well in the first half and we found it difficult to get the ball.

'We made several changes during the interval and looked a far better side in the second half.'
