A TOTAL of 23 boats competed in the 2013 Cawsand Bay Regatta.
There were three catamarans, 16 fast monohulls, and four slow monohulls.
The boats launched from the beach to the course at the edge of the Bay, and were somewhat surprised by wind speed knots in the high teens, gusting to high 20's.
There were three races in the Saturday schedule – one before lunch and two back-to-back races in the afternoon. At the end of the day, sailors used a variety of words to describe the conditions, of which 'lively' is the only word we can use here!
