A RUNNING club is celebrating its runaway success - and a smart new sponsored kit for members.

The Looe Pioneers have doubled in number during 2017 and runners from the club have represented the town on both the national and international stage.

Now, thanks to the East and West Looe Town Trusts, all the athletes will be wearing a new orange club vest or shirt.

And younger members will be provided with the kit too, after mayor of Looe Armand Toms pledged a donation from his official fund.

The Looe Pioneers committee has been working hard over the last few months to secure a kit sponsor, said chairman Guy Cooper.

‘This extremely kind sponsorship from bot East and West Looe Town Trusts will enable all club members to represent the town with a stylish and modern kit.

‘Sincere thanks also to our mayor, whose donation has enabled our junior members to be provided with kit, this will encourage more interest in active sport from a younger age.’
