THE Rotary Clubs of Looe Valley, Liskeard and Looe have teamed up to put on the Caradon Hill Chestnut Cycle Challenge on Saturday May 9.

Cyclists from across the area will gather in Liskeard for the second annual Caradon Hill; last year saw some 50 riders take part.

It's a tough ride and offers a challenge to cyclists of all ages and abilities. There will be two distances a 73km route and a 95km route. The event will start at 09.30am and begin and end in the town centre Westbourne car park. The route takes riders north out of Liskeard through Pensilva and Rilla Mill to Coads Green, then through Minions to the Draynes Valley river road to Jamaica Inn. The return to Liskeard is south past Colliford Lake, through Dobwalls to Moorswater and the viaducts, and up the Looe Valley side to Bolitho and into town.

The short route takes the road straight from Minions to Dobwalls.

Registration is now open and can be done online via the Chestnut Appeal website http://www.chest">www.chest

David said: 'We are delighted the rotary Clubs have come together and decided to organise this event again for the charity.  We had some great feedback from those who took part last March so hopefully it can attract many more cyclists this year.

'It promises to be a great event and one that will help the Chestnut Appeal spread awareness in the area as well as helping to raise funds,' he added.
