Pupils and staff of St Stephens primary in Saltash took part in a sponsored walk for Ukraine. On Friday, March 11 the children took part in a sponsored walk to raise money for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. All members of the school came together and completed a mile long walk around the schools’ grounds. Everyone was asked to make a blue and yellow flag of which they carried around with them.
A spokesperson from the school said: “The rain stopped just in time for our sponsored walk. The music was playing, children were waving their flags and we were all thinking about the people in Ukraine!”

They added: “We have been blown away by everyone’s efforts and kind donations”
The school have raised £9,000 so far, and are still counting. All the proceedings will be sent to the Ukrainian crisis appeal organised by the British red cross, who are providing food, medicines, water and shelter to anyone who needs it.
