children's author Tim Bowler, who lives in South Devon, spent four days at Torpoint Community College running workshops for pupils in years 7, 8 and 9. Students were able to learn how to develop their writing skills by generating ideas and improving their critical ability. Tim was welcomed at the college with his entertaining workshops, leading to the students producing excellent work. Plymouth bookshop In Other Words ran a book fair and all of Tim's books were on display. He happily signed his books bought by students. Tim Bowler was the winner of the Carnegie Medal in 1997, which is awarded annually to the writer of an outstanding book for children.
