Renowned writer of British teenage fiction Tim Bowler was at Torpoint Community College this week talking of his work and literature. Winner of the Carnegie Medal and numerous other book and library awards, he gave students an insight into writing fiction and his work, and signed copies of his books for them at the end of the day. This is the fifth year he has visited the college. Now living in South Devon, he has his workroom in an old stone outhouse, about a ten-minute walk from his home. He has a new series of books being published from May this year. The series, called Blade, is described as gritty, pacy, gripping and packed with action. The first book is called Playing Dead, with the second called Closing In. Libby Allman, of Marjon's Bookshop, held a book fair at the same time and had a number of Tim's books for sale.
