Inappropriate

Cornwall councillor for Liskeard South and Dobwalls Mike George said that the majority of those residents from his area who responded to consultations agreed in principle to the new restrictions.

'One of the main reasons for doing this is the inappropriate parking by daily commuters within the town,' said cllr George. 'Four years ago I achieved £1 a day parking at the station – but people still insist on parking on residential streets.'

Cllr Jan Powell said that more affordable parking within the town had to be the way forward. 'I don't think putting yellow lines around the town is the answer,' she said.
