Wordsmiths, wizards and wonderful stories of all kinds will be enticing people to Looe as the town plays host to its third Literary Festival this weekend (November 12 and 13).
Insights into the worlds of politics and extreme sport are promised, with speakers including MP Alan Johnson, Ann Widdecombe, ocean swimmer Adam Walker and Cornish mountaineer Ed Buckingham.
An eclectic line-up of talks and workshops over the two main days of the festival will offer something for everyone.
From rich tales of local history, to thriller writing with an ex-private investigator, dog psychology, and even ’moon gardening’, there is much to intrigue.
During the festival weekend, many of the town’s pubs, cafes and buildings will be hosting talks and workshops, and many of the activities are free.
Lots has been planned for children, and the Guildhall in East Looe will be transformed as Hogwarts on Saturday, November 12.
On the Sunday there will be a wordy workshop on spells and magic for youngsters – and Ann Widdecombe will be reading children’s stories in the Guildhall.
