Liskeard WI Market always maintains the highest standards of hygiene and has a friendly welcome for customers and members both old and new. In fact we'd have a particularly warm welcome for the latter at the moment. Last year's appeal did attract a few new producers, though sadly, for various reasons, most didn't become permanent members. We've also seen quite a few new faces among our customers and some are now becoming quite regular, which helps our bakery producers to know how much to bake. Fortunately the Caradon Housing Youth Project have been happy to make use of some of our surplus on poorer market days.
However, with Alan Titchmarsh starting a new series of Gardeners' World, plant sales will soon be resuming in full, together with more flowers and, hopefully, organic vegetables in due course. With tea and coffee to serve we'll be kept pretty busy and, if someone is off sick or on holiday it may be difficult to cope. We would give a really warm welcome to anyone, maybe former producers or WI members, who could spare an hour or two on Friday mornings. We're open in the Long Room from 8.30 to 11.15am - the first hour is usually the busiest but any help will be gratefully received.
If you're coming to the Cancer Research Art Exhibition, why not pop in and see us. For anyone who would like to join us as a producer and wants to know more about the market our Annual Meeting is next Tuesday March 7 at 2.30pm in the Long Room. All members, past, present and future are welcome to attend.
