I WAS so pleased to see that the local farmers have been only cutting back the beautiful hedges in places where they are impeding cars or blocking visibility instead of wholesale flailing.
It is so sad that, usually, by the time people come on holiday the hedges are stripped and brown.
But which official gave the go-ahead to mow down the stunning blue flowers that suddenly appeared on the bare gravel at the A38 Menheniot junction?
In no way were they causing any sort of hazard other than to make us realise what a beautiful place we live in.
