I FELT that I had to write about the dog fouling that's occurring on the grass verge by the riverside on the Millpool car park in Looe. My daughter, who lives in Looe, and I walk our dogs by the river quite often and never without doggie bags in our pockets. Lately we have noticed piles in the grass and one day there were even two piles near the bins which are provided for disposal. What is the matter with some dog owners? We can't blame visitors altogether especially at this time of the year. If this is not cleaned up, there will be problems when visitors park their cars on the Millpool and put their chairs on the grass to have picnics. It is a very beautiful place to walk along the riverside, but the fouling really spoils it. I have read recently in the Cornish Times letters from people who think that dogs should be allowed on East Looe Beach, but if the unsightly mess by the river is anything to go by, I for one support a ban on the beach.
