THREE women from Saltash have collected nearly half a million pounds each after winning the Lottery Jackpot. Susan Haley, Lynne Higman and Sufia Conway were all part of an 18-person syndicate at the University of Plymouth's Faculty of Science which shared the Lotto Triple Rollover jackpot on Saturday, November 3. The winning ticket, which had the numbers 3, 10, 22, 25, 31, 49 and the bonus ball of 4, was bought from Hodges newsagent in Saltash. Susan, who has worked at the university for 21 years, was stunned when she was told by the shop owner that her Lucky Dip ticket had won the top prize.

Jobs 'I rushed home and then started calling up everyone to let them know,' said Susan. 'Most of them thought it was a wind up. 'It took a while to convince them that we had won more than £8m.' All 18 players plan to stay at their jobs at the university but plans on how to spend the money are already under way. For Susan the windfall means she will be able to pay for her eldest daughter, who is 16, to go on a trip of a lifetime to Mexico with her local Girl Guide group. Lynne Higman says she is thinking about taking her family to Disneyland in Florida. The group, who have been playing the lottery for the last 13 years, are all planning to carry on buying a regular ticket.
