The GB Para Table Tennis Team made a good start to the 2016 season in  Italy today with bronze medals in the singles events at the Lignano Master Open for six players including Torpoint’s David Wetherill (men’s class 6).  

Wetherill progressed from his group with three wins from three although he had to fight hard to defeat the Romanian World number eight Bobi Simion 3-2. He went on to beat Pavao Jozik from Croatia 3-0  in the quarter-finals but came up against the Paralympic champion and World number three Rungroj Thainyom in the semi-final and the World number three from Thailand was a 3-0 winner.
