Liskeard started strongly with two goals from Angela Burgess on the near post inside the opening 10 minutes, making safe well-wayward shots from the top of the area. Bude however proved a sterner challenge than anticipated and the home side were unable to lift their game to their usual high standard. Although the majority of the play was with Liskeard attacking, they failed to capitalise on this with anymore goals. Lou McCartney battled hard without due reward from the officials, but to the admiration of her peers.
Bude Captain, V Cobner, brought the visitors a step closer early on in the second half. But with staunch defending from Pengelly, Worden, Garbett and Jewson they never looked like drawing level.
